Pre/ Post Matric Scholarship 2025-26: The Government of India continues to announce different schemes for the poor/ minority now and then. For the past few years, education has been the major concern for Government as a student from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families were not getting the education as they are supposed to. Thus, dropping the literacy rate in India. In 2006, The Prime Minister’s New 15 Point Programme was announced for the welfare of Minorities.

Latest Update: The Pre/ Post matric scholarship application form for the ministry of minority affairs has been released. Apply online from the link provided below.

It provides both Pre-matric Scholarships for Indian Students from minority communities. The scholarship is supposed to encourage parents from minority communities to send their school going children to school, lightening their financial burden on school education and sustain their efforts to support their children to complete school education.

Post-Matric Scholarships 2025: For Minority

The objective of the scheme is to award scholarships to meritorious students belonging to the economically weaker sections of minority community so as to provide them better opportunities for higher education, increase their rate in the attainment of higher education and enhance their employability.

Post Matric Scholarship Scheme 2025

These schemes are awarding scholarships for studies in India in a government or private higher secondary /college /university, including residential institutes of Government and eligible private institutes enlisted by the State/Union Territory Government. It will also cover technical and vocational courses for Class-XIth and XIIth.

NOTE: Technical and vocational courses will be offered by Industrial Training Institutes/Centres affiliated with The National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT). These training will only be for Class-XIth and XIIth students.

Indian Pre Matric Scholarship 2025 Eligibility

Two conditions are there to be eligible for scholarships:

  • Scholarships will be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination.
  • The annual income of the Parent/Guardian of the student should be less than 1 Lakh for Pre-matric scholarship(s) and 2 Lakh for Post-matric scholarship(s).

NOTE

  • There is a fixed number of scholarships available. Student(s) from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families will be given preference in the ascending order. The renewal application would be fully exhausted before the new applications are considered.
  • 30% of the scholarship will be earmarked for girl students.

Pre/ Post Matric Scholarship Registration Form 2025

The scholarship registration form will be released in the upcoming months. The Pre-Matric Scholarship Registration Form will be needed by the students of Class 1st-10th and the Post-Matric Scholarship Registration Form 2025-26 will be needed by the students pursuing higher education in the field selected by them. How to Apply for Pre & Post Matric Scholarship Scheme

  • The scheme is implemented through National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
  • First of all, visit the official website of this Ministry i.e. www.scholarships.gov.in
  • Then search here for the apply link.
  • Fill in all the required details such as personal and qualification.
  • Press on the submit button and take also a print out of the scholarship form.

The list of documents to be scanned and uploaded for both Fresh and Renewal Scholarships are:

  1. Student photo.
  2. Institution Verification Form.
  3. Self-declaration of the Income Certificate by the student.
  4. Self-declaration of the community by the student.
  5. Self-attested mark-sheet of previous final examination.
  6. Fee-Receipt of the current course year.
  7. Proof of bank account in the name of the student.
  8. Aadhar Card (Optional).
  9. Residential Certificate.

Career Guidance For Students After 10th 12th

Note: Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain and Zoroastrians (Parsis) have been notified as minority communities under Section 2 (c) of the National Commission for Minority Act, 1992. The distribution of the scholarship among the State/Union Territories will be made on the basis of the population of the above notified minorities and their population in the State/Union Territories as per Census 2001.
