About CISCE
The Council for The Indian School Certificate Examinations represents the Government of India, State Government/ Union Territories, the Inter-State Board for Anglo-Indian Schools affiliated to the Council, the Inter Board for Anglo-Indian Education, the Association of Schools, the Indian Public Schools and members of co-opted by the executive committee of the Council.

ISC Board History
All India Certificate Examinations Conference was held in October, 1952 under the presidency of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Minister of Education. The conference was held to consider the replacement of the overseas Cambridge School Certificate Examinations by All India Examinations. This conference set the plan for establishment of council.
The Council was registered as a Society under the Societies registration act 1860.
At last in 1973, it was registered in the Delhi School Education Act 1973, as an organization which will conduct ‘public’ examinations.
The CISCE Council’s Goal

CISCE Examinations
ICSE conducts three various examinations which are named as the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE Xth Class), The Indian School Certificate (ISC XIIth Class) and the Certificate in Vocational Education (CVE). Students have to follow various syllabus and subjects for these examinations. We are giving brief explanation of all three examinations.
The ICSE (Xth Class)
The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education has been prepared to conducts examinations for general education in affiliated schools. Remember that this examination will be conducted in English Medium only. Students who are enrolled for private courses, they will not be allowed to appear in examination.
The ISC (XIIth Class)
The Indian School Certificate examination conducts for all English medium students. It has been designed with new education policy. Students will be eligible after two year courses beyond the Xth class examination.
The CVE (Year 12)
In this examination students can appear after 2 year course beyond Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (Xth Class) or equivalent degree. The CVE examination will be conducted in English medium only.
