Ministry of Minority Affairs: It is the “Central Schemes” under which scholarship is provided to minorities, professional and technical courses.

The names of the scholarship are as follows: Pre Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities, Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities and Merit Cum Means Scholarship For Professional and Technical Courses CS. 

  • Pre Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities

This scholarship will be awarded to those students who have secured not less than 50% marks in the final examination of last class and also the annual income of their parents/ guardian does not exceed Rs. 1 Lakh.

For fresh candidate Inter-se selection weightage is to be given to poverty rather than marks. In this candidate required to submit an Income Certificates. In case of same income, merit shall be generated from DOB criteria of students.

For Renewal candidate there is not such merit list generated. Renewal candidate will get scholarship if they obtained 50% in his/ her previous year examination and his application is verified by all authorites and approved by state governments/ UTs.

The scheme is implemented through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). It is mandatory for all students to apply online on the website: scholarships.gov.in.

  • Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities

Students who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the also the annual income of their parents not exceed than Rs. 2 lakh are eligible for this scholarship.

  • Merit Cum Means Scholarship For Professional and Technical Courses CS

The eligibility criteria for this scholarship is same as the above two scholarship i.e. Students who have secured 50% marks or equivalent grade in the last final examination and the also the annual income of their parents not exceed than Rs. 2 lakh are eligible for this scholarship.

Selection procedure for fresh candidate: The number of scholarship has been fixed State/ UT-wise on the basis of community wise minority population of the States/ UTs as per Census 2001 (2017-18) & 2011 (2018-20). In case number of students is more than the state/ community-wise quota, normal merit list criteria will be followed while other verified student will be selected in the merit list. In case of similar marks, income will be taken as deciding factor.

For the Renewal candidate the merit list will not be generated. They will get scholarship if they obtained 50% in his/ her previous years examination their application is approved by State Governments/ UTs.

How To Apply For Above Scholarship Exam

  • Go to the official site of NSP i.e. gov.in.
  • Below of the home page there are various schemes are available i.e. Central Schemes, UGC Schemes, AICTE Schemes and State Schemes.
  • Select Central Scheme.
  • Various schemes are available on the central scheme. Select the Ministry of Minority Affairs.
  • Under the Ministry of Minority Affairs various scholarship scheme is provided.
  • Select the scheme of your own choice and click on the link “Online” .
  • Fill the complete details and submit the form before the last date.

Result/ Merit List

The monitoring of the financial and physical performance of the scheme will be evaluated by assigning evaluation/ impact studies to reputed institutions/ agencies by the ministry of minority affairs, Government of India.
